HARRIS COUNTY -- There are reports of a shooting at Lone Star Community in North Harris County.

There are unconfirmed reports that at least three people were shot.
 
KHOU 11 News stringer Lloyd Overcash saw one male being brought out of the library on a stretcher.
 
At least one other person was being treated by EMS crews outside the library when Air 11 flew over.
 
Other crews were entering the library with stretchers, as students filed out.
 
The only thing campus officials can confirm is that the school is on lockdown.

HARRIS COUNTY -- At least three people, including a suspect, have been shot at Lone Star Community in North Harris County, according to Precinct 4 deputy constables.
 
Dozens of law enforcement officers are searching for a second suspect on the loose. They are searching a wooded area north of the campus.
 
KHOU 11 News stringer Lloyd Overcash saw one male being brought out of the library on a stretcher.
 
At least one woman was being treated by EMS crews outside the library when Air 11 flew over.
Other crews were entering the library with stretchers.
 
Just before 1 p.m. several people were evacuated from the library and other areas of campus.
 
The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. at the campus in the 2700 block of W.W. Thorne Drive, near Bush Intercontinental Airport.
 
The only thing campus officials could confirm is that the school is on lockdown.
 
Several Aldine ISD schools are also on lockdown while the search for the suspect continues. They are Nimitz High School, Nimitz 9th Grade Campus, Parker Intermediate and Dunn Clifford Elementary.

SWAT teams are searching for a man who allegedly shot two people at the Lone Star College-North Harris Campus in Houston. According to a report from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s office, two people were shot in the early afternoon near the campus’ library. The campus is located in north Harris County, near Bush Intercontinental Airport at 2700 W.W. Thorne Drive..

 One person has reportedly been handcuffed and placed inside a Harris County Sheriff’s Department vehicle but it is not known if the person is a suspect in the shooting.

 An unidentified student reported seeing a man in handcuffs surrounded by police officers about 20 minutes after the first call was made about 12:40 p.m.

An LSC employee made The Courier aware of an alert message sent to all LSC faculty, adjunct faculty, employees and students via email at 1:04 p.m. by Denise Walker, chief emergency management officer with the Lone Star College System stating:

“LSC-North Harris campus evacuation is in progress at LSC-North Harris. A couple of armed suspects reported; injuries reported. Incident limited to LSC-North Harris.

“Additional updates will be provided soon.”

No official statements have been made regarding the incident at this time.

First reports of the shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. according to KTRK Channel 13.

Speaking by phone to KTRK Channel 13, campus Dean of Academic Success Dorothy Dixon said she was unsure as to what was going on but “I heard two people were shot outside my building.”

According to Jed Young, spokesman for the Lone Star College System campus in north Harris County, the campus issued a shelter-in-place while Aldine ISD schools in the area have also reportedly been locked down.

Speaking to a KTRK, student Daniel Flores said he heard “six or seven loud bangs” which he attributed to ongoing construction. He then saw others running from the scene as word spread of a possible shooting.

Ben Taub General Hospital has reportedly received two shooting victims at this time. KTRK has reported that the two victims have been brought in to the hospital and are alive at this time.

At this time, law enforcement has not found the alleged shooter.

Atascocita Volunteer Fire Dept has dispatched its ambulance bus to the scene to help with mass casualty transport, if needed. At this time, it is believed that there are just two shooting victims.

The Lone Star College-North Harris Campus has an enrollment of about 37,000 students, according to the latest-available figures from the college system. The majority of students who attend classes at the campus come from Aldine, Spring, Klein and Cy-Fair ISDs.
